0001018: iPad DHCP problems
Apparently the iPad is not respecting the DHCP contract.

More information about it: http://www.net.princeton.edu/announcements/ipad-iphoneos32-stops-renewing-lease-keeps-using-IP-address.html [^]

We have not tested an iPad with PacketFence yet but the fact that it doesn't renew will definitely cause some problems (short leases in registration / isolation VLANs). However, from the text I think registration would still work so the real issue is only IP conflicts and DHCP pool IP address exhaustion.

This bug will track upstream status since it's a bug in the iPad iPhoneOS 3.2.

On July 15 2010, Apple released iOS 3.2.1 (build 7B405) for iPad. We verified that iOS 3.2.1 does not exhibit this bug.

Users should update their iPads....
