Summary | 0000213: Request to have multiple gateway IP's supported per interface
Description | The reason I ask for this is for dhcp detection. If you are using HSRP or VRRP on your routers you configure your router with an IP address and then two or more routers share a virtual IP address (usually the .1 or .254) which is what clients use. When a DHCP discover is broadcast *both* VRRP routers forward the broadcast to the DHCP helper and both respond with whatever they receive as a reply. When they reply, they reply with their configured IP address, not the virtual IP address that they share. This means that I have to configure all of our VRRP addresses as DHCP servers in PF. I hope to get packetfence running on roughly 130 interfaces this summer and that means that I'm going to have 260+ dhcp servers defined in the config file. That is going to be ugly. If you can define multiple gateways in PF and then understand that each gateway may be responding with DHCP replies, that would be helpful. -Josh

is this still an issue? Isn't there a statement to set the origin IP of the DHCP Helper reply so that you can set it to the Virtual IP? |

Marking as won't fix for now as so many things changed I'm not sure if this is still relevant. Please re-open if you need this. |
