[root@localhost sbin]# ps aux | fgrep -i pfdetect
root 2802 0.0 1.7 14140 8768 ? Ss 10:37 0:00 /usr/bin/perl /usr/local/pf/sbin/pfdetect -d -p /usr/local/pf/var/alert

Mar 24 10:37:40 pfcmd(0): Starting pfdetect with '/usr/local/pf/sbin/pfdetect -d -p /usr/local/pf/var/alert &' (pf::services::service_ctl)
Mar 24 10:37:40 pfdetect(0): pfdetect starting and writing 2801 to /usr/local/pf/var/pfdetect.pid (pf::util::createpid)

So there is 2801 written to pfdetect.pid and the actual PID is 2802 !
